So, sometime last year I started rereading SVH, and I guess I wanted to bookmark little things along the way. Completely forgot about it until I was reorganizing the small bookcase I keep my SVHs and SVUs on, when I found a few books that had a page or two dog-eared.

Unfortunately, the only things I managed to do this for were two Jessica facts from book 2. They are below. (The other things I flagged were songs to look up, outfits I wanted to see what they looked like IRL, etc.)

Jessica tried to be friends with Enid first! Part of the reason she was annoyed with her was that she was friends with Elizabeth instead. (Source: Chapter 3 of Secrets.)

Jessica is allergic to gardenias. (Source: Chapter 6 of Secrets.) I wonder if Liz has this same allergy?

Anyone got any others? For anybody in the series, not only the twins? I swear, I'm 30, been a fan off and on since I was 8, and was still very surprised by the Jess and Enid thing. Somehow I never remembered it!

Oh, Enid.

I always thought the Enid thing was hilarious-- but seemed very in-character for Jessica.

The biggest "little" fact I remember was that Lila was actually the illegitimate child of Grace and...someone else! George married her when she was already pregnant and assumed responsibility for Lila.

This fact came from the back(non-plot) pages of one of the early books-- sort of a "get to know the characters" section. Does anyone else remember this?

Re: Oh, Enid.

I was reading some early e-books and you're right. Also, it mentions that Lila's mother visits occasionally or rarely. I can't remember how it's phrased. But in the amazing Evil Twin 8 part mini-series, she says she hasn't seen Grace since she was 2 and doesn't remember her.

Re: Oh, Enid.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers this! And from reading through SVT as well as SVH, there is never any mention of Grace visiting. Maybe she couldn't get away from Pierre?

Re: Oh, Enid.

Exactly! And why on earth would Happy Mothers Day Lila ever have existed if Grace visited occasionally?

I'm snarking The Arrest right now and I've decided Pierre probably dies of dysentery because all he does in that book is complain about his digestion.

Re: Oh, Enid.

Death by dysentery is too good for Pierre.

Although, I always wondered whether Grace ever returned to France to (awkwardly) move out of the mansion she shared with him-- or did she just buy all new stuff in America and never go back? Seems like our Grace is pretty cavalier about abandonment!

Re: Oh, Enid.

I always have pictured Pierre to look like one of the weird French Canadians from South Park, don't ask my why! But yeah, he's a royal damn creep, to put it politely.

I never thought about what Grace did with all her shit back in France. Maybe she just abandoned all of her stuff; it seems like she was already spending all of George's money before he even re-proposed! That 8 part miniseries is just the most insanely delightful thing that ever was.
